How Zoom Works

Zoom delivers the best results when performed after a routine teeth cleaning to remove plaque and bacteria. The whitening gel, activated by the Zoom light, breaks up stains and discoloration on your teeth. While the entire procedure takes about an hour, each whitening session lasts 15 minutes.

During the procedure, the gel is applied and activated by the light, staying on your teeth for 15 minutes at a time. After each session, the gel is washed off and reapplied two more times, for a total of three 15-minute sessions. Once the process is complete, a paste is applied to reduce tooth sensitivity post-treatment. Patients with dental anxiety or those with a sensitive gag reflex may find the procedure challenging, but the results are often well worth it.

Maintaining Your Results

Zoom provides patients with a touch-up kit to help maintain their bright smiles. The kit includes custom-fitted whitening trays designed to prolong the effects of the treatment. Our dentist will explain how to properly use the kit to avoid irritation. You may be advised to avoid dark liquids such as coffee, tea, and wine, as well as tobacco products, which can stain teeth over time. Regular brushing and flossing are essential for maintaining good oral hygiene and the longevity of your whitening results.
